Dr. Matteo Valsecchi

The main focus of my current research is on the sensorimotor determinants of perception. I investigate how the appearance of a uniform visual world emerges from the interplay of the foveated architecture of our visual system and our ability to explore our environment with eye movements.

I am also interested in how eye and hand movements are controlled and coordinated in real-world settings, from small scale eye movements in precision tasks to large orienting  eye movements as measured through mobile eye tracking.
