I studied psychology at the University of Helsinki in 1999-2004 and wrote my
master's thesis on the interaction between chromatic and luminance mechanisms.
I concentrated on experimental psychology, biological psychology and visual
perception throughout my studies. My PhD work concentrates on colour constancy in
simulated and natural environments. One of my projects deals with the colour appearance
of natural objects and the enhancing effect memory colours (typical colours
of objects) have on colour constancy in a project funded by the
German Research Council (DFG Ge 879/5).
