Set environment variables:

• Set CVS_RSH to /usr/bin/ssh (CVS_RSH=ssh;export CVS_RSH)

• Set CVSROOT to :ext:username@violet:/home/cvs (CVSROOT=:ext:user@www.allpsych.uni-giessen.de:/home/cvs)

:ext:username@www.allpsych.uni-giessen.de:/home/cvs on Windows (where hostname violet is not known)

• Test: echo $CVS_RSH $CVSROOT

CVS checkout:

• cd u:
• mkdir cvs
• cvs checkout eye

Remote usage:

• Make a script sshx:

/usr/bin/ssh -p 2222 -C

• Set CVS_RSH to /home/username/bin/sshx (or similar)
